14-Day Homesteading for Beginners
A Hands-On Introduction to Land Stewardship
Investment: $4,000
Duration: 14 Days
Group Size: 6 Women
This is not a vacation.
It is a grounded introduction to homesteading and land-based living.
For two weeks, a small group of women will step into the daily rhythm of working with the land—learning the foundational skills, responsibilities, and decision-making that come with caring for property and building a sustainable homestead.
You will work with your hands, learn practical systems, and explore what it really takes to grow food, manage resources, and create a life rooted in the land.
Because while many people dream about homesteading—gardens, fresh eggs, and simple living—few understand the daily rhythm, planning, and physical work required to make it sustainable.
This immersion gives you the opportunity to experience it for yourself.
What the Experience Is Like
Participants live together on the land in shared accommodations with access to kitchen, common spaces, and twin bedrooms.
Each day follows a grounded homestead rhythm:
Morning
Hands-on land work. Participants engage in real homestead tasks such as clearing brush, maintaining garden spaces, learning basic tool use, building simple infrastructure, and working on seasonal projects around the property.
Afternoon
Practical teaching sessions exploring the systems that make homestead life possible—from soil and water to food production, energy use, and land planning.
Evening
Fireside reflection, conversation, and connection with the land.
The work is practical.
The learning is grounded.
The experience replaces romantic ideas with real understanding and confidence.
What You'll Learn
Throughout the immersion, participants explore the core foundations of homesteading and earth stewardship, including:
-Land clearing and ongoing property maintenance
-Soil health and simple soil testing methods
-Rainwater catchment and water management
-Garden bed preparation and seasonal planting
-Understanding food production vs. decorative gardening
-Permaculture ideas including food forests and vertical growing
-Small homestead infrastructure and simple building projects
-Energy use and heating considerations for rural living
-Evaluating land for long-term homestead potential
-Participants will also gain experience using a variety of land tools and contributing to small projects
that support the functioning of the homestead.

Many women feel drawn toward a more grounded life on the land.
They imagine:
-Growing their own food
-Living closer to nature
-Creating peaceful homes or small retreat spaces
-Building more self-sufficient lifestyles.
-But homesteading requires more than inspiration.
-It requires knowledge, systems, resilience, and consistent work.
This immersion allows women to explore the lifestyle firsthand—learning what is required while discovering whether this path truly fits their vision for the future.
What You Leave With
At the end of the 14 days, each participant receives:
A Stewardship Suitability Assessment
A Personal Land Readiness Score
A 12-Month Action Plan
Possible Pathways
For some women, this experience confirms the call.
For others, it reshapes the vision.
Participants may choose to:
Continue into advanced SheIsMe Land Steward certification and then
-Steward land within the SheIsMe ecosystem and lease and operate a SheIsMe retreat property
-Purchase or own land and become a member of our leadership center network
Participants leave with a clearer understanding of what homesteading might look like in their own lives and what steps they would need to take next.
